Bellevision Qatar felicitates GVOM 5 first runnerup Carol DSouza

Doha Qatar, 26 November 2016: The Bellevision Qatar (BVQ) members along with their families, friends and guests on Friday 25 November 2016 felicitated Qatar’s singing sensation Mrs. Carol D’Souza who won female's first runner-up in the Gulf Voice of Mangalore season 5 (GVOM – 5) reality musical competition finals held in Bahrain recently and celebrated the occasion with a brief program followed by lunch at Coffee Time restaurant near Bank Street, Doha Qatar.

 

 

The guests of honour from the Konkani Community in Qatar present on this occasion were Mr. William Aranha Mr. Prakash Noronha, Mr. Aloysius D’Souza, Mr. Simon D’Silva and Mr. Victor D’Souza.

 

BVQ President Avinash Jason D’Souza in his key note address introduced the guests and welcomed them and the gathering. He appreciated Sarita Mendonca and Carol D’Souza from Moodubelle for taking part in GVOM – 5 and congratulated Carol D’Souza for winning the runners-up in the finals. He also thanked his BVQ committee for organizing this felicitation program. BVQ Treasurer Sarita Mendonca welcomed the guests with flower bouquets.

 

Addressing the gathering Mr. William Aranha, Chief Advisor BVQ, said that it is good to see the togetherness of BVQ community. He said he is proud of Carol D’Souza who brought fame to Moodubelle and also the entire Mangaloreans residing in Qatar.

 

Mr. Aloysius in his speech said that Belleans coming together like this and felicitating Carol D’Souza will bring up her best for the next competition. By winning runner-up this time he made the entire Mangalorean community proud. He wished Carol better luck for next time.

 

Mr. Prakash Noronha appreciated the Belleans for celebrating the occasion. He said he too had been to Bahrain to witness the GVOM-5 finals. The singing of Carol was fabulous and narrowly missed the first place. But she has every ability to win next time, he said.

 

Mr. Simon D’Silva was delighted to see the Konkani community from Moodubelle and their striving for togetherness. He said the talent of Carol in singing is unique and it is just the beginning for her and has a long way to go.

 

Responding to the honour Carol D’Souza (who is also BVQ Secretary) thanked everyone gathered for their love, honour and best wishes and thanked BVQ for this felicitation. She said that she is delighted with the enormous support she received from everyone. When Amith Mathias and everyone else asked her to sing, she did not disappoint them and sang a Konkani song beautifully.

 

BVQ Vice President Mr. Amith Mathias compeered the entire program cracking rib-tickling jokes kept the guests and audience in laughter throughout the program. BVQ Media Coordinator Jerald D’Souza in his vote of thanks thanked William Aranha for his support in organizing this program. He also thanked each and every one for their contribution.

 

It was a great opportunity for the Konkani community in Qatar especially from Moodubelle to have fellowship and share their time. The program concluded with sumptuous traditional Mangalorean buffet lunch enjoyed by all.
